Zooey Deschanel Shares Sweet Tribute to ‘Dreamboat’ Fiancé Jonathan Scott on His 46th Birthday: ‘Luckiest Girl’

Zooey Deschanel is celebrating Jonathan Scott a little extra on his birthday this year.

On Sunday, April 28, the New Girl alum, 44, posted a loving tribute to her fiancé on Instagram for his 46th birthday. The first, a slideshow of seven photos, showcased the couple’s time together over the years.

“I am absolutely the luckiest girl in the world to call this guy my fiancé!” Deschanel wrote in the caption. “Happy birthday to my one and only genuine dreamboat.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love you Jonathan!”

The first image showed the pair in black-tie attire, with Scott gesturing at his soon-to-be-wife as she poses for the camera. Another captures the actress candidly hugging the Property Brothers star tightly.

Several other snaps show the pair, who have been together since 2019, out on date nights, smiling beside each other with dinner or some wine.

Later in the day, Scott made a post recapping the festivities from his day and thanking Deschanel for making him feel special.

“For my birthday…and EVERY day @zooeydeschanel you know how to spoil me,” he wrote. “Great food; escape rooms and antiquing 🥰.”

A video post revealed photos from the day, along with various other images of the two together. The slideshow played against the song “You Make My Dreams Come True” by Daryl Hall and John Oates.

Deschanel commented some loving emojis under the post: “😘😘😘.”

The couple got engaged in August 2023 on a family trip to Scotland. While the planning for their upcoming nuptials is coming along, Deschanel admitted to Entertainment Tonight in March that “it’s slow.”

Scott added that they still need to pin down their date and venue.

"It all just has to be right," Deschanel told ET about taking their time planning.

As for Deschanel's 6-year-old son Charlie and his 8-year-old sister Elsie's roles in the big day, the 500 Days of Summer actress said so far, only one thing is for sure: “There will be cute outfits," she told ET.
