Zooey Deschanel poses with a super-cute baby on the red carpet, but it's not her super-cute baby

Zooey Deschanel may share stories about her kids, Elsie Otter and Charlie Wolf, but don’t expect to see her with them on the red carpet — even at a charity event.

The New Girl star gave back on Monday attending an event in L.A. for Baby2Baby, which provides low-income children with diapers, clothing, and other necessities. Deschanel, who accepted a donation of 2.5 million diapers from Huggies on behalf of the charity, posed with babies at the event — business as usual for a celeb at that type of thing. However, a photo of her holding an adorable baby boy quickly started circulating on the internet because it was misidentified as her son.

While the baby certainly is a cutie, he’s certainly not her cutie. “It’s 100% not” Charlie Wolf, who was born in May, her publicist tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “It was a baby who took part in the event.”

In fact, Deschanel has never shared photos of her children with husband Jacob Pechenik — or taken them on the red carpet.

While the TV star is keeping their images under wraps, she has certainly spoken about her brood, which also includes 2-year-old Elsie. She’s opened up about their wild middle names, revealing she picked animal names because — shocker — she loves animals. She’s chatted about the challenges of breastfeeding. She’s revealed how motherhood changed her. She’s shared first words. She’s blasted those postbaby-bod photo shoots that are so popular.

When it comes to her family life, that’s what the public gets. We don’t get close-ups.
