In early March 2024, Disney Branded Television announced at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that the fourth installment in the successful Zombies movies was in development. Filming will begin in New Zealand in March. Paul Hoen, the director of the previous three entries in the franchise, is returning to helm the fourth film. David Light and Joseph Raso are also returning to pen the script alongside Josh A. Cagan. Disney has also released details about the plot and cast.

Zombies 3 was filmed between May and July 2021 and premiered in July 2022. Given this precedence, Zombies 4 is likely to debut sometime in 2025.
