Zilla Fatu utilizes the Samoan Spike, but he wants to be known as more than the son of Umaga.

Independent wrestling star Zilla Fatu recently sat down with MuscleManMalcolm. When asked what his character’s story is at this point in his career, Fatu said he’s still trying to figure out who he is and wants to be known as more than just Umaga’s son.

“I feel like mine is just figuring out who I am,” Zilla Fatu admitted. “Figuring out who Zilla Fatu is and not Umaga’s son. And it’s kind of hard because Umaga, my dad, obviously had a big impact on the wrestling world. Not only that, I got a whole family tree; that’s gonna be a whole other hour to explain that. But yeah, man, it’s harder for me because there are expectations for me.

“So I’m trying to do my own thing and I’m really just trying to make an impact on the wrestling business in my way, not in Umaga’s son way. I’m in his shadow, but I just want to make him happy. Obviously, I’m always gonna pay my dad homage. Like obviously, I’m always going to do that. I’m always gonna have the [Samoan] Spike in my toolbox at all times, but I’m just trying to figure out who I am. I’m still trying to figure it out.”
