Zendaya has officially joined the Valentino family as the newest face of the 60-year-old iconic Italian fashion house.

Valentino announced the news on Instagram, sharing a first peek of the campaign shot by Michael Bailey Gates. The campaign features a barefoot Zendaya stunning in a black lace off-the-shoulder dress, showing off the brand’s latest Roman Stud purse.

“A symbol of individuality, freedom and power, Zendaya encapsulates Valentino’s resignified values,” the caption reads.

“The reason why we chose Zendaya as the new face for Valentino is because she perfectly embodies and represents what Valentino is, and stands for, today,” ,” creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli said in a statement. “She is a powerful and fierce young woman that uses her talent and her work to express herself, her values and her generation as well.”

It’s no secret that the multi-hyphenate has solidified herself has a fashion icon over the years. Her work with celebrity stylist Law Roach has made for some of the biggest red carpet moments in modern day. From turning heads at the 2019 Emmys wearing a Vera Wang emerald corset dress to her Met Gala Cinderella moment, it’s clear the 24-year-old star is not afraid of a style risk.

Zendaya is a pro at landing big time fashion and beauty deals, working with Bulgari and Lancôme. The star was also named Tommy Hilfiger’s global brand ambassador in 2018, designing two capsule collections for the American brand.
