Zelda Williams turns 30 with powerful post: 'I leave behind one of the worst days of my life'

A week after announcing the marriage of her younger brother, Cody — who chose to wed on the birthday of their late father, comedian Robin Williams — Zelda Williams is marking a special occasion of her own: her 30th birthday.

The actress and director, who is the Aladdin and Mrs. Doubtfire star’s middle child and only daughter, posted a powerfully poignant message on Instagram in honor of her July 31 birthday.

In it, she reflected on her 20s and the moments — painful, thrilling and otherwise — that defined them. That of course includes her father’s death by suicide in August 2014, which she referenced by writing, “I leave behind one of the worst days of my life, and many amazing ones.”

“I leave behind a decade that helped me grow from being a wide-eyed, precocious, old-souled young girl into a bright-eyed, capable and hopeful WOMAN,” Williams, who has become a mental health awareness advocate since her dad’s death, continued.

The newly minted 30-year-old, whose mother is Williams’s second wife, producer and philanthropist Marsha Garces, also included a shoutout to her parents.

“Oh, and mama? Thank you to you and Dad for bringing me into this world and for always believing in me,” she wrote. “I may not have always believed in myself, but HOLY S**T, I do now!”

Her post — in which she tells 30 to “BRING IT ON!” — was met with love and support from pals including actress Annie Starke, whose mom, Glenn Close, co-starred alongside Robin Williams in The World According to Garp and Hook.

“Happy birthday you wonderful human being,” Orphan Black actress Tatiana Maslany added, while actors Shane West and Charlie Carver also sent well wishes.
