Ricochet previously punched his ticket to the finals of the WWE Speed Championship Tournament by scoring the win against JD McDonagh in the semi-finals. His opponent was determined on the May 1 episode of WWE Speed. There, Johnny Gargano won the other semi-final bout against “Big” Bronson Reed.
Ricochet and Johnny Gargano beat Draogn Lee and Angel, respectively, in their first-round matches.

Ricochet was on the winning team in the main event of the April 29 episode of WWE RAW. There, he, Andrade, and Jey Uso beat The Judgment Day.
