Although May helps kick off the 2024 movie summer blockbuster season in theaters, Max is offering plenty of content this month to keep its streamers entertained at home. Not only does the Emmy-winning show Hacks make its season 3 debut this month, but the platform also offers several other TV shows and movies to keep subscribers laughing, crying or at the edge of their seats in suspense, as will be the case for many NBA and NHL fans.

Best TV show on Max in May: Hacks (May 2)
Jean Smart has been nothing short of phenomenal in Hacks, and that’s a trend we expect to continue with Hacks season 3. In the new season, Smart’s Deborah Vance is riding high in light of her successful standup special, and her partner in comedy, Ava (Hannah Einbinder), hopes to embark on new opportunities.
If you’re interested in watching something with a little more dramatic flair, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 8 continues to debut new episodes weekly. Additionally, STAX: Soulsville, U.S.A., is a new docuseries that follows the story of the underdog Memphis record label that produced singers like Isaac Hayes, The Staple Singers and Otis Redding, just to name a few artists.
Best movie on Max in May: The Iron Claw (May 10)
Calling all wrestling fans and fans of Zac Efron, The Iron Claw debuts this month on Max. The movie follows the true story of the Von Erich brothers, who made quite the splash in the world of professional wrestling in the early 1980s.
It’s also worth mentioning that this month on Max sees some classics come to the platforms. The original trio of Mad Max movies and the Poltergeist movies debut this month.
Best live sport on Max in May: 2024 NBA playoffs
The NBA playoffs continue to be in full swing, and thanks to many games being broadcasted on TNT, Max subscribers can catch some of the postseason action live. Additionally, TNT and Max will be the exclusive home to the Western Conference Finals.
