Best movie on Paramount Plus in December: The Shining (December 1)
There is nothing Christmas-y about The Shining outside of the snow that traps the Torrances at the Overlook Hotel as Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) slowly goes crazy, but that's kind of what makes it a great pick for this month, especially as there are plenty of other Christmas-themed movies and TV specials being added to the streaming service this month. Stanley Kubrick's masterful horror movie is a great watch at any time of year.
If that's not your speed though, may we also recommend comedies like Airplane!, American Hustle, Caddyshack or That Thing You Do!, while you can also enjoy other classics like The Fugitive, The Iron Giant and The Shawshank Redemption.
Best TV show on Paramount Plus in December: Ghosts UK season 2 (December 8)
Many CBS viewers are missing Ghosts (don't worry Ghosts season 3 is on the way), but in the meantime, they can enjoy the UK version that inspired the comedy. Ghosts UK season 2 is the latest batch of episodes that are airing on CBS and then subsequently being made available to stream on Paramount Plus, giving you more chances to enjoy the Charlotte Richie-led series.
If you're looking for something to watch to get you into the Christmas spirit, then Paramount Plus is going to have plenty to pick from as special episodes of The Price is Right at Night are going to be Christmas-themed, and then there will be live events like the annual National Christmas Tree lighting.
For all of the shows mentioned above, Paramount Plus with Showtime subscribers can watch them at the same time they air live on CBS, while all Paramount Plus subscribers can watch them on-demand the next day.
Best live sport on Paramount Plus in December: Army vs Navy (December 9)
As the race for the NFL playoffs heat up, it's hard not to say NFL games on Paramount Plus aren't going to be the best live sports to catch this month. But we'll have multiple weeks of NFL action in December while there's only one Army vs Navy game every year. The records don't matter when these two military academies square off. Seeing future servicemen and women on the field and in the stands is still one of the coolest things the college football season has to offer.
Though if you are looking for the best college football on Paramount Plus game this month, that is almost assuredly going to be Georgia vs Alabama for the SEC Championship on December 2.
