What to Watch this week: Dearest readers, “Bridgerton” returns for season 3 — and “Young Sheldon ”bids“ ”adieu

Plus, Ryan Reynolds stars in "IF," "American Idol" and "Amazing Race" crown new winners, and Jake Gyllenhaal hosts the "SNL" season finale.

Lower the lights, it's time to find out the winner of the latest season of American Idol — which is also Katy Perry's final episode as a judge. Plus, two people will hear Phil Keoghan say, "You are the winners of The Amazing Race" on that show's season finale.

After seven seasons, the Big Bang Theory prequel series Young Sheldon comes to an end, as does Blue Bloods after 14 seasons. The limited series Mary & George, starring Julianne Moore and Nicholas Galitzine wraps up its run, and So Help Me Todd comes to an end after just two seasons.

In theaters, Ryan Reynolds stars in IF, directed by John Krasinski; Ilana Glazer and Michelle Buteau lead the comedy Babes; Marisa Abela portrays Amy Winehouse in the biopic, Back to Black; and the first entry in the new horror franchise The Strangers is hoping to scare audiences.
