In conjunction with the Met Costume Institute's new exhibition of the same name, the theme of the 2024 Met Gala is Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. Back in February, the official dress code was deemed Garden of Time. The exhibition will run from May 10 to September 2. As noted by Vogue, the theme and dress code are not inspired by fairytales or fables, but “rather the celebration of clothing and fashion so fragile that it can’t ever be worn again — and are thus sleeping beauties in the scrupulous archives of the Costume Institute.”

For the fourth consecutive year, Vogue will host an exclusive livestream of the red carpet hosted by producer and actor La La Anthony, Wednesday and GoT star Gwendoline Christie, and model Ashley Graham; and yes, do not fret — Emma Chamberlain will return once more as Vogue's special correspondent.

The co-chairs joining Anna Wintour for this year's Gala are Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth, and Bad Bunny. Serving as the evening's honorary chairs are Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson and TikTok CEO Shou Chew.

This will be the first time Zendaya has attended the Met Gala in five years — her last appearance on the coveted carpet was in 2019, when she wore her iconic Cinderella gown for the Camp: Notes on Fashion theme. Zendaya is on the fashion streak of a lifetime; as her Challengers press tour comes to a close, the Met Gala will be the perfect cap to her spring sartorial takeover. While speaking at different press engagements leading up to the Gala, Z has played coy about who and what she'll be wearing.

But there's no doubt that she is one of the most highly anticipated guests of the night, alongside other red carpet giants speculated to be on the guest list, like Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, the Kardashian-Jenner family, Blake Lively, and Gigi Hadid.

The Met Gala guest list is incredibly secretive and even more selective — so while we won't know for sure which celebs and public figures will be joining in on the fashion fun until tonight, there's always guesses, theories, and speculation.
