The hungry citizens of West Hollywood will finally get a chance to sink their teeth into a  Green Goddess Sandwich from Something About Her, as the infamous sandwich shop owned by “Vanderpump Rules” stars Katie Maloney and Ariana Madix is actually opening.

Sandwich Shop Will Reportedly Open In May

The U.S. Sun reports that the shop will officially open on May 22, 2024, following years of battles with the city to begin operation. The publication previously reported that the shop would be open by January of 2024, however, they warned that, “as issues continue to pop up, it could get pushed back as it has several times previously.”

But now, the shop is scheduled to open, just in time for West Hollywood’s Pride celebration.

“After the grand opening, Something About Her will host a ‘big WeHo Pride party,’ the source spilled, which will take place during WeHo Pride Weekend Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2. ‘The inside of the shop is ready to go. Everything is still in place as it has been teased on the show,’ the source confirmed,” said the U.S. Sun.

Shop Is 'Dangerously Close' To Opening

Maloney recently sat down with E! News and gave her own insights on the status of the shop.

“We are so dangerously close, and I mean that in a really positive way,” the VPR star said. “I know it’s been a really long time coming, and that’s felt by everyone that asks me that question. If we could have opened six months ago, we absolutely would have, but it’s been completely out of our hands.”

Maloney declined to name an actual open date, but she said the location exists and they are anxiously awaiting an official opening.

“There’s a location. 100%, there’s a location that exists and there’s a door you can walk through.”

“We had to rip out an entire patio, so we’ve had to rework. We had to get a whole new awning made. We’ve had to get permits for that. That took forever.”

Opening A Restaurant Is 'Not For The Faint Of Heart'

Maloney explained that the process of opening up a restaurant has been difficult.

“This is not for the faint of heart. The education that I’ve got opening up a food establishment is really illuminating. There are so many things. But the inside is really beautiful. I’m really excited about it. There will be a new awning, a sign, there’s lights. It’s super cute. I know people take pictures and say it’s closed down, and I’ll have just left the place, but it’s definitely there.”

They have been criticized for offering official store merchandise for sale while the physical location has yet to open, with some wondering whether the store would ever come to fruition.

Cosmopolitan reported that the two earned a reported $200,000 from merch sales.

“In response to host Andy Cohen asking Ariana and Katie Maloney how much they've sold in merch for their upcoming sandwich shop, Something About Her, Katie said ‘Well, it's about $200,000,’ which Ariana confirmed with a ‘two-hundred thousand.’ Katie added that ‘It's really incredible that so many supportive people showed up to, like, help us,’ while Ariana explained, ‘We were always going to do merch in the shop, and we thought that was something we would do, like down the road... But then people were saying 'How can we support you?' And so we launched it early.’"
