Bill Clinton, Kevin Love and more to offer advice to Class of 2020 at Verizon's 'Ready for Anything' virtual commencement series

While the Class of 2020 is missing out on a traditional graduation ceremony because of the coronavirus, they’re still in for advice and encouragement from some big names.

Verizon and Yahoo will host Class of 2020: Ready for Anything, a series of virtual commencement ceremonies featuring interactive, inspirational live experiences with A-list artists, athletes, innovators and influencers as they offer advice to graduates in this challenging moment. The four-week event, running every Friday, from May 22 to June 12, will include former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Kevin Love, Katie Sowers, Hugh Evans, Jen Rubio and Hans Vestberg. Immediately following each live stream, Built by Girls will host Career Bound: Real Steps for the Real World, providing no-fluff tips to help graduates navigate the world.

Here’s the star-studded lineup:

May 22: William P. Lauder, executive chairman of the Estée Lauder Companies, and Katie Sowers, assistant coach for the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers

May 29: Kevin Love, player for the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers

June 5: Hugh Evans, CEO for Global Citizen, and Jen Rubio, co-founder of Away

June 12: Hans Vestberg, chairman and CEO of Verizon, and Clinton, the 42nd president of the United States

Vestberg promises it would be the “memorable commencement” every student deserves.

“We are proud to team up with partners across the public, non-profit and private sectors to deliver a completely new kind of experience, where all students, regardless of where they went to school, will have the opportunity to interact with world industry leaders.”

This year’s grads have already heard from the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Matthew McConaughey in other shows of support. In his time at the virtual podium, the Dallas Buyers Club star deemed the students “a special class like no other.”
