Vince Vaughn is proud of his two kids: Locklyn and Vernon.

The IF voice actor said he didn't feel ready to be a father until he got engaged to now-wife Kyla Weber in 2009, telling PEOPLE that it was “the first time that I really wanted to have kids.”

Once their daughter Locklyn was born the following year, Vaughn made it clear that he was more than happy with his new role in life. He told CTV News that parenthood had given him “a different purpose.”

“I feel so grateful,” the People's Choice Award winner said. “You know, my wife’s so great. But I gotta tell you. Just the minute they come out, so beautiful and just so sweet – I was just so glad that everyone was healthy.”

Shortly before welcoming Vernon in 2013, Vaughn talked about his love of fatherhood. “All kids bring their own joy, it’s a lot of fun,” he told E! News. “There’s nothing more fun than laughing and playing around with the kids.”

Two years later, Vaughn celebrated his hand and footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre with his wife and children by his side. He has also been spotted bringing Locklyn and Vernon to Disneyland and NBA games.

Here’s everything to know about Vince Vaughn’s kids: Locklyn and Vernon.

Vaughn and Weber welcomed their daughter, Locklyn Kyla Vaughn, on Dec. 18, 2010.

Their firstborn's name is based on Weber's mother’s heritage. “My wife’s mum is from Scotland, so that’s where Locklyn comes from,” Vaughn told Metro in 2014.

When she was younger, Locklyn was friendly with Owen Wilson's son, Ford. The pair, who are only about a month apart in age, visited their dads when they were filming The Internship in 2012 and were spotted spending time together on set.

As a child, Locklyn was a huge fan of Disney’s Frozen movie, specifically the character of Elsa. In a 2015 interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Vaughn said she was obsessed with acting like the animated princess.

“[Elsa] is the one that my daughter really seems to idolize, she doesn’t get too close to anyone, because she’ll hurt them, she’ll freeze them and she’ll cause them pain, so she has to shut herself out,” he said, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Vaughn added that he always played along with her, joking, “I wonder what a child psychologist would say about this.”

Like her dad, Locklyn is into comedy: In a 2020 interview on Live with Kelly and Ryan, the Wedding Crashers star said his daughter enjoyed comedy movies and liked to joke around. He revealed that the only film of his that both of the kids had seen was Dodgeball, and they were fans.

Locklyn is also interested in sports. On The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2020, Vaughn shared that his elder child played soccer on a competitive team. Three years later, the pair were photographed sharing a sweet father-daughter moment at an NBA game.

Vaughn and Weber welcomed their son, Vernon Lindsay Vaughn, on Aug. 7, 2013 — he is named after his paternal grandfather.

Vernon has taken an interest in something a lot of children don’t like: horror movies. In a 2020 interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Vaughn said that his son “has a real appetite for the dangerous stuff.”

He added, “He’s 7 years old, and I watched the original Dirty Harry with him. I don’t know how this plays out, but I did it.”

The Break-Up actor joked about Vernon’s love of horror movies again during a 2020 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, saying, “It’s unclear what happened, but he does like things that scare him. I try to stop it, but I’m letting him watch some stuff.”

During the same appearance, Vaughn also revealed that Vernon was good at sharing. “My son is very sweet, he’s very funny,” the producer said. “He likes to share, which is a thing that you would find to be a good quality in a child.”

The Teen Choice Award winner explained that even when Vernon got new toys, he would hand them out to others. “When friends come over, it’s like they’re guests at the Oscars,” Vaughn joked. “They leave with a bag of things, like new toys that were supposed to be his stuff, and he’s like, ‘no, that’s okay.’ ”

Like his sister, Vernon is also into sports. During a 2021 interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Vaughn talked about how he missed the Kentucky Derby because he was taking his kids to their various baseball and soccer games.

“There was traveling involved,” he said. “For some reason, you have to travel 35 minutes to play other 9-year-olds. It’s a confusing process.”

“I don’t understand it, but I am on the train, and it’s not stopping,” he continued. “It’s all complicated. But I am glad we’re playing. I am grateful the kids are back in sports — so no complaints.”
