American Idol host Ryan Seacrest was joined by his future Wheel of Fortune costar Vanna White on Monday's episode of ABC's singing competition show. "A legend, a household name, a superstar named Vanna White is making a cameo on American Idol," Seacrest announced on Good Morning America earlier that day. "She's watched for years, and she's going to cohost a little bit with me on the next Idol."

As promised, White appeared in a brief cameo on the episode to help Seacrest introduce a contestant's performance.

“I am so enjoying this," White said, standing with Seacrest, on the show. "There's so many talented people here. I cannot believe it is so much fun."

"I’m so excited to get to work with you, and I thought maybe we could work together right now, so would you like to help me with the next finalist introduction?" Seacrest said. White happily obliged, gesturing to four blank letter cards that overturned to reveal the name “AJII” to introduce Ajii’s performance of Tems’ “Higher.”

"What an incredible experience getting to appear on a show I’ve been watching since the beginning! I’m such a big fan," White said on Instagram, alongside a clip of her appearance while Idol aired on the East Coast.

Wheel of Fortune announced last week that longtime host Pat Sajak will appear in his final episode on Friday, June 7, which will be the season 41 finale. Sajak, 77, announced his retirement from the series last summer.

"Well, the time has come," he said in a statement at the time. "I've decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It's been a wonderful ride, and I'll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it'll keep the clickbait sites busy!)"

A few weeks after Sajak announced his four-decade run would come to an end, Sony Pictures television revealed that Seacrest would take over hosting duties starting in season 42.

After a period of contract negotiations, White struck a deal to remain on the series for Seacrest's first two seasons, and she hasn't ruled out extending her time beyond 2026. "I know Ryan — he is professional, he's good at what he does, he's kind," White said after Seacrest's hiring was announced. "I think it's going to be good. He's such a nice guy and he loves what he does. He said, 'Look, I am not replacing Pat. I'm not going in to try to fill Pat's shoes. No one can ever replace him.' He says he's coming in to do a good job and to keep the show going, and I'm looking forward to working with him."
