Shortly before the series premiere of The Valley, news broke that one of the show’s married couples, Michelle and Jesse Lally, had split. In the first 45 seconds of our introduction to them in Episode 1, it was more than evident that their marriage was on its last legs.

The cracks in their marriage – that Michelle called the “world’s longest booty call” – widen with each episode. The Valley began filming almost a year ago, so Michelle recently gave more insight into the timeline of their separation and why she waited so long to file for divorce.

Michelle and Jesse separated in October 2023

Michelle and Jesse got married in 2018. They had a daughter, Isabella, in 2020. Becoming new parents during the pandemic was one of the marital struggles they mentioned on the show.

Michelle was a guest on the April 25 episode of When Reality Hits, her also-separated castmates Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor’s podcast. She laid out her and Jesse’s separation timeline.

“We filmed [The Valley] last summer and we finished filming in September [2023],” Michelle began. “I had the conversation with Jesse at the beginning of October that it was no longer going to work and I wanted to file for divorce.”

She revealed, “Jesse and I have actually not been together since October and since then we were free to date and do whatever we want.”

Michelle was ready to file for divorce immediately, but the show made it “tricky”

Michelle also shared that she wanted to divorce right away. However, The Valley’s impending premiere complicated matters.

She explained, “I am more permanent. I have filed for divorce and it is happening. We are in the middle of it and hopefully, before the end of the year, it will be finalized. As of now, we don’t have to go to court because we are essentially in agreement with almost everything. Hopefully, we won’t need to and we will be done. My goal is to be done and move on with my life.”

“That is why I was like, ‘We need to file as soon as possible.’ It was a little tricky with the show because it was going to be announced and we didn’t know how to handle it. It was a little back and forth when we would file.”

Michelle says that she and Jesse are amicable and now dating other people.

“… I do now have a boyfriend and I’m really happy about that. We are very much aligned. I feel like instantly when I met him, we aligned with each other. We have the same values, hobbies, and it has been very easy; we don’t fight and I’m just so happy all the time.”

Michelle’s reportedly dating financial advisor Aaron Nosler. And, it sounds like things are going much better for her in the bedroom department. “I am the complete opposite; I can’t keep my hands off him. I am like, ‘Who am I?'”

The Valley continues Tuesdays at 9/8c. on Bravo.
