At the recently held 2024 Spring iJOY Conference, China’s network giant, iQIYI, confirmed the line-up for the upcoming variety shows. They unveiled the list verifying the broadcast of 300 new shows. These shows will cast many internationally recognized faces. From Stephen Chow’s The King of Stand-Up Comedy to the global survival program Youth With You International, the line-up contains entertainment and excitement.

Here’s a list of iQIYI variety shows that will premiere soon:

1. Youth With You International

It is needless to say that the previous seasons of the popular reality show Youth With You have been greatly successful. The show’s inception dates back to 2018, and since then, the show has garnered international attention for casting popular faces like Lisa of Blackpink, Lay Zhang, The8, and others as mentors. The series broke many records and successfully established its title as one of Asia’s most promising music shows.

This time, the show has decided to go international. They are joining hands with South Korea’s Studio Prism to debut the next global boy group. Studio Prism is known for producing successful shows like Running Man. It will feature trainees from all around the world who will live together in a campus-like setting. They will train and compete against each other to secure their spots in a boy group consisting of only nine members. iQIYI has already begun the trainee selection process on April 24, 2024, through elaborate auditions.

2. The King of Stand-Up Comedy

Stephen Chow, renowned for his roles as an actor, filmmaker, and comedian, officially joined hands with iQIYI for the upcoming The King of Stand-Up Comedy. He’ll play the role of an initiator for the comedy variety show. The title is a witty reference to one of the 90’s movies Stephen Chow starred in. It is part of a collaboration project between the actor and iQIYI for upcoming dramas, films, variety shows, animations, etc.

3. Youth Choir

Popular Chinese actor Esther Yu and K-pop idol Jun of Seventeen officially join hands with iQIYI for the upcoming show Youth Choir. Esther Yu is renowned for her roles in popular dramas such as Love Between Fairy and Devil, My Journey to You, Sword and Fairy, Romance of the Little Forest, and others. Jun, on the other hand, is one of the most popular members of his group, taking on the positions of both the lead dancer and vocalist.

The concept of the show is quite unique and has already created buzz among netizens. In this music variety show, eight college choir groups will compete against each other. The young musicians will train under celebrity mentors and take on pop choral challenges. Through cultural exchange, only one group will be announced as the winner.

Furthermore, iQIYI announced the release of 300 new shows and dramas at the conference. These shows and more will be available to stream on iQIYI.
