Universal reveals new nighttime shows, opening date for DreamWorks Land

ORLANDO, Fla. — Universal Orlando announced on Monday new offerings for the summer, including two new nighttime shows, a new parade, and an opening date for the upcoming DreamWorks-themed land.

CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular, a new nighttime lagoon show at Universal Studios Florida, debuts on June 14 and will feature music and scenes from films like Harry Potter, Jurassic World, and Shrek. The show will also feature new 4K projection mapping and over 600 drones.

DreamWorks Land, a themed area inspired by characters from DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda, will officially open on June 14, Universal Orlando also announced on Monday.

The new DreamWorks Land will include interactive play zones, opportunities to meet characters, a new live show, special snacks, and photo opportunities. Visitors can roam through Shrek’s Swamp, ride the Trollercoaster, meet with Po in the Panda Village, and encounter characters such as Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse.

In The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, visitors can enjoy Hogwarts Always, a nightly projection show featuring key moments from a Hogwarts school year and featuring four different endings representing each Hogwarts house.

Universal Mega Movie Parade, set to debut on July 3 at Universal Studios Florida, will feature moments from films including E.T.Back to the FutureJawsGhostbustersJurassic World, Illumination’s Minions and Sing and DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls and Kung Fu Panda. Universal says the parade be its biggest daytime parade ever and will include 13 new floats and nearly 100 performers.

“We are thrilled to debut an array of never-before-seen experiences for the entire family to enjoy from day to night,” Karen Irwin, President & COO of Universal Orlando Resort, said in a news release on Monday.
