Underoath are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album They’re Only Chasing Safety in a big way. The band is embarking on a massive tour comprised of extensive UK/European and North American legs.
Following an appearance at the So What?! Music Festival in Fort Worth, Texas, on June 1st, Underoath will launch the UK/European leg on June 7th at the Rock Im Park festival in Nuremberg, Germany. The North American run will kick off September 18th in Norfolk, Virginia, and run all the way through a December 13th gig in Tampa, Florida.
A Live Nation pre-sale for the North American tour is already underway using the code RIFF, while a general on-sale begins Friday (April 19th) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. Fans can also check for deals or pick up tickets to sold-out shows via StubHub, where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program. Meanwhile, tickets for the UK/European outing can be purchased here.
They’re Only Chasing Safety, released in June 2004, is Underoath’s fourth album overall, but first with current singer Spencer Chamberlain. The LP — which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and has since been certified gold — will be performed in its entirety at each stop of the North American tour.
In a collective statement, the band commented, “Twenty. Years. This is going to be like nothing we’ve ever done. They’re Only Chasing Safety in full every night plus another set of songs voted on by each city. Every song from every album over the past 20 years will be on the table. Let’s get nuts.”
