Twitter Slams Tyra Banks After Old 'America's Next Top Model' Clips Resurface

Tyra Banks is catching heat for some of her past behavior on former hit TV show, America's Next Top Model.
The supermodel's name began trending on Sunday night after a series of video clips resurfaced from the reality series.
Claims that Banks "exploited" and mistreated upcoming talent were not uncommon after some scenes of her being highly critical of the models in the competition made their way around the social media platform.
"This show was made to break down women n steal their dignities… I hate that we love this show so much," one user wrote, adding, "It may have had the biggest negative impact on our own lives as well."
Many users were upset after videos of the panel of judges tearing down girls' appearances came to the forefront of the discussion.
"The 2000s were something else. This woman's body was sickening," another user commented, using "sickening" in the positive slang version to mean "extremely attractive" or "flawless."
"You can't spell tyrant without Tyra," one user commented.
While some jumped on the Tyra-bashing bandwagon, others brought up another valid point: the modeling world as a whole comes with brutal criticism, especially 10+ years ago, so you can't bash one single member of it without holding everyone else accountable. "The high fashion world hasn't changed at all. Tyra is not the villain, the industry is," one user explained.
"Were you a child in the early 2000s listening to tyra banks call women who were 5'10 and 115lbs plus sized? if so, you may be entitled to financial compensation," another joked.
Plenty of users came to the forefront to name Janice Dickinson as another member of the reality show who held no punches when it came to giving feedback to the young women in the house. "I need people to have the same smoke for Janice that they’ve had for Tyra the last few years," another noted.
While others suggested it was all completely unnecessary to back into the past.
Whether the host's behavior was questionable or whether the judges went a bit too far with commentary at times is subjective and up for debate, but in terms of bringing the drama, such is reality TV, right?
