May 17—As part of Artpark's 50th anniversary season, the high-energy New Orleans jazz and funk of Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will take the stage at Artpark Amphitheater, on June 22 with special guests Jackie Venson and Buffalo's own Farrow.

Other recent announcements include the Machine, who will perform Pink Floyd favorites with a laser-light spectacular featuring the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra at the Artpark Mainstage Theater, on Aug. 3.

The Machine has forged a 30+ year reputation of extending the musical legacy of Pink Floyd. The New York-based quartet performs a diverse mix of Pink Floyd's extensive 16-album repertoire, complete with faithful renditions of popular hits as well as obscure gems.

The band features founding member Tahrah Cohen (drums), longtime bandmates Scott Chasolen (keys, vocals) and Ryan Ball (guitar, vocals), and newest member Chris DeAngelis (bass, lead vocals). The band continues on to celebrate the music of Pink Floyd and to honor the life of Joe Pascarell, who co-founded the band with Tahrah in 1988.

"They duplicate the sound and hits of Pink Floyd with chilling accuracy, and they play for a hell of a long time." — Matt Diehl, Rolling Stone

The Buffalo Jazz Composers Workshop featuring some of the region's finest jazz artists and composers returns on Aug. 18 on the Emerald Grove Stage located in the Lower Park.

It's a part of the New Music In The Park series of concerts held in various locations throughout Artpark's scenic grounds and curated by Artpark and award-winning conductor and composer Brent Chancellor. The Series offers an eclectic snapshot of music, performance, and collaboration happening now with works by living, and underrepresented composers alongside iconic and legendary figures that broaden and enrich the musical conversation.
