The Top 5 Actors We Want to See Play Dracula in the New Series From the ‘Sherlock’ Team

The team behind BBC’s hit series Sherlock is reuniting for a new project about that famous undead baddie: Dracula. That’s right: According to Variety, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss will write the series, and Sue Vertue will produce it. The show will have a format similar to Sherlock: a miniseries with longer episodes.

Sherlock helped propel Benedict Cumberbatch to international fame, before he began starring in blockbusters such as as Star Trek Into Darkness and Doctor Strange. Cumberbatch imbues the robotic, impersonal genius Sherlock Holmes with a degree of charm and likability, which makes him perfect for the role.

While the Dracula project has yet to be cast, we have some strong feelings about the issue — so we put together our list of the top five actors we’d love to see play Dracula.
