At just 24 years old, Tomi Lahren has made a name for herself as a conservative voice, both on television and online. Since she frequently defends President Trump’s policies, it might come as a surprise that she supports abortion rights. But she does, and in an interview with The View, she explained why her position is actually a conservative one.

Cohost Sonny Hostin noted that Lahren considers herself pro-choice, despite aligning with right-wing politics. Lahren’s response called out people who believe in small government, but still want their government to dictate women’s healthcare choices.

“I’m pro choice, and here’s why. I am a constitutional, you know, someone that loves the Constitution. I’m someone that’s for limited government. So I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government but I think the government should decide what women do with their bodies. I can sit here and say that, as a Republican and I can say, you know what, I’m for limited government, so stay out of my guns, and you can stay out of my body as well.”

Though this is one issue she agrees with the left on, usually Lahren is at odds with the feminist movement. Previously, The Daily Beast notes, she called out the Women’s March for not including anti-abortion protesters in their movement. “It’s not just the marchers-it’s the feminist movement and, really, the collective left who preach tolerance and understanding, but only for those people and issues they believe in,” Lahren said in a Facebook post in January. “Meanwhile, they point fingers at Trump or Trump supporters and label us all bigots with their cardboard signs and their hashtags and their exclusive moral high ground we’re just not good enough to stand on. Well, bull.” So let’s just say there’s a lot more work to be done before we all get along.
