Tom Brady regrets doing his Netflix roast because of his kids

Tom Brady's roast was a major hit for Netflix, drawing 2 million views in its debut night alone — but upon reflection, the football legend said he wouldn't do it again because it impacted his family.

"I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn't like the way that it affected my kids," Brady said during a recent interview on "The Pivot Podcast."

Dubbed "The Greatest Roast Of All Time," Brady's lashing was broadcast live during the Netflix Is a Joke Fest last month. (An edited version is available to stream now on Netflix.)

The event was hosted by Kevin Hart and roast master Jeff Ross, while comedians like Nikki Glaser and Andrew Schulz took the stage to make cracks about Brady's career with the New England Patriots, his post-NFL financial decisions (he reportedly lost $30 million in the crypto crash), and his recent divorce from Gisele Bündchen. ("You have seven rings — well, eight, now that Gisele gave hers back," Glaser quipped.)

Brady did not specify which jokes upset his kids, though he said he felt "naïve" for signing up for the roast.

He called the experience "bittersweet," adding, "I wouldn't do that again because of the way that it affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world."

"I love when people are making fun of me," he continued. "I wanted to do the roast because Jeff Ross became somebody I knew. But you don't see the full picture all the time."

Brady has a 16-year-old son named Jack with his ex-girlfriend, "John Wick" star Bridget Moynahan, and two more children, 14-year-old Benjamin and 11-year-old Vivian, with Bündchen. Last year, he said his children face "unique challenges" due to having famous parents.

"I'm going to be a better parent as I go forward because of it. At the same time, I'm happy everyone who was there had a lot of fun," Brady said of the roast. "If we're not laughing about things, we're crying. We should have more fun. What do we love? We love laughing in the locker room. Let's do more of that and love each other and celebrate other people's success."
