TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Greatest Roast Of All Time? Netflix is putting the NFL G.O.A.T. and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady in the hot seat next month.

On Monday, the streaming service announced that the retired quarterback will be the butt of jokes for its first-ever live roast, part of the annual “Netflix Is A Joke Fest.”

Tom Brady ‘not opposed’ to NFL comeback – but not with Buccaneers

Dubbed “The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady,” the roast will make history as the only live roast to premiere unedited and uncensored on television or streaming.

Comedian Kevin Hart is set to host the highly anticipated event.

Netflix released the roast’s trailer on social media, showing Brady walking away from the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California, as the arena goes up in flames with a sign on the building that reads, “GROAT” for “greatest roast of all time.”

“The man. The arena. The roast of Tom Brady, live on Netflix,” Kevin Hart said in a voice-over. “No helmets. No mercy. No Brady rule.”

“No f—ing problem,” Brady responds before the arena explodes behind him.

Comedian Jeff Ross, who’s no stranger to celebrity roasts made a cameo in the video, shouting at Brady, “We’re coming for you, pretty boy!”

“I’m unroastable,” Brady replied before saying his signature gameday slogan, “Let’s go!”

When does the roast premiere?

Brady’s roast, which promises to show “no mercy,” will be filmed at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and streamed live on Netflix on May 5 at 8 p.m. ET.

Who will be roasting Tom Brady?

While Hart was announced to host Brady’s roast, those who will be “flaming” the former quarterback will be revealed at a later date.

However, if Brady’s roast is anything like previous roasts, comedians like Jeff Ross and Hart, as well as other celebrities and athletes will be in attendance to take shots at the G.O.A.T.

Brady’s life after football

The 46-year-old retired from football “for good” in February 2023, putting an end to his 23-year NFL career after a short stint in Tampa Bay, where he clinched his seventh Super Bowl ring.

While the NFL legend stepped away from the league, he’s taken on other roles in the sports world, such as acquiring an ownership stake in the WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces, and has made advancements in becoming a minority owner of the Raiders.

He also plans to make a splash in the broadcasting world.

In 2022, Brady and Fox Sports reached a 10-year, $375 million agreement for him to join the team as their lead analyst immediately following his playing career in Tampa Bay. However, Brady later revealed that he’ll make his broadcast debut with Fox in the fall of 2024.

He joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 and led the team to three playoff appearances, winning two NFC South titles and Super Bowl LV.
