Dylan Dreyer was recently left speechless for all the right reasons.
After nearly a year-long wait, the Today show weather anchor made her official debut as an author with the release of her children’s picture book, Misty the Cloud: A Very Stormy Day. Following her initial book announcement in March, the book finally hit shelves on October 12. What's more, within a week, Misty climbed to the third spot on The New York Times best seller list for children’s picture books.
Upon hearing this exciting news, Dylan immediately began thanking her fans on Instagram for encouraging her.
“I am at a complete loss for words!!! Thank you to each and every one of you for your support of my little book project,” she wrote. I’ve dreamed of bringing Misty to life for years and I couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you a million times over for helping me make it to the @nytimes best seller list! #mistythecloud.”
Without missing a beat, fans flooded the weather forecaster’s comments section to join in celebrating her incredible accomplishment. “Dylan, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am so happy for you!! ❤️❤️❤️,” one person wrote. “That’s our girl ❤️❤️❤️👏👏,” another added. “So excited for you! You are such a light!! ❤️❤️,” a different fan said. “I see Misty hitting no 1 soon!!! Congratulations Dylan!!! ❤️,” a follower commented.
Fellow third hour Today show cohost Jenna Bush Hager also stopped by to share a heartwarming message with Dylan. “Yass queen!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” she wrote.
This is only the beginning for Dylan’s career as a writer. Misty the Cloud: A Very Stormy Day is the first installment in a new picture book series exploring how children can deal with having “good days, bad days and everything in between.” More specifically, Dylan is aiming to help kids understand “the power of emotions.”
