Lip slugging is a conditioning treatment designed to soothe cracked, dry and tight lips. Those who partake will want to layer a mix of thin and thick products, letting it work overnight for the moisture to penetrate and the skin barrier to be repaired. Slugging is a big trend on TikTok — many opt for this method to aid their dire need to restore and revive an irritated skin barrier that can be brought on by high wind, sun or dry skin conditions. Dermatologist Dr.Sarah stands by the hack and advises to apply a lip mask first and add in other skin-loving ingredients like shea butter, hyaluronic acid, cocoa butter and vitamin E.
