Tickets on sale for Aurora Community Theater's 'Gypsy'

Tickets are on sale for Aurora Community Theater's production of the musical "Gypsy: A Musical Fable."

The organization also is taking registrations its Children's Summer Workshop, and plans auditions for its next show.

"Gypsy" is loosely based on the 1957 memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee. It includes songs such as "Everything's Coming Up Roses," "Together (Wherever We Go)," "Small World" and "Let Me Entertain You."

Performances will run at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays from April 26 to May 18. Sunday matinees will be offered at 2 p.m. on May 5 and May 12.

Audience members can stop by Orchid House Winery for dinner and a complimentary 5-ounce pour before any "of ACT's "Gypsy" performance. Offer valid with proof of ticket purchase.

Children's workshop registration opens

Registration is open for ACT's Children's Summer Workshop.

Each two-week workshop costs $295 for the first child and $275 for each sibling. Classes will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, culminating in performances of "Alice in Wonderland Jr."

Auditions scheduled for '[title of show]'

Auditions for ACT's upcoming production of "[title of show]" will be 7 to 9 p.m. April 28-29.

The musical "[title of show]" chronicles the musical's own creation as an entry in a New York theater festival. The story follows Hunter and Jeff in a span of 90 minutes they write and perform their show at the festival and learn lessons about themselves. ACT performances will be in June and July.
