War Memorial Center: A Field of Flags ceremony, with 27,316 flags placed to represent Wisconsinites killed in action over the past century and a half, will take place at 11 a.m. May 24 north of the center in Veterans Park, 1010 N. Gift of Wings IKEA Family Kite Festival in Veterans Park

The 37th Gift of Wings IKEA Family Kite Festival returns to Veterans Park 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 25 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 26. Highlights include kite-flying lessons, flying demonstrations and a grand launch of more than 600 kites at noon both days. Admission is free. Info: giftofwingslanding.com.

Oddities & Curiosities Expo at Baird Center

The traveling Oddities & Curiosities Expo stops by the Baird Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 25 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 26. Vendors, dealers and artists will be on hand displaying all things weird, from antiques to creepy clothing and other stuff. Tickets at the door are $15, free for kids 12 and younger. "Abstracting O'Keeffe," the floral tribute to Wisconsin-born artist Georgia O'Keeffe, ends its run at the Mitchell Park Domes May 27. Admission at the Domes, 524 S. Layton Blvd., is $9 ($8 for Milwaukee County residents); $6 for county seniors 60 and older, students, adults with disabilities, kids ages 3 to 12, and military members; and free for children 2 and younger.
