Things to do: Cuddle up with baby farm animals this weekend at McDonald's Greenhouse

What’s cuter than kids and adults cuddling up with baby farm animals? Not much. McDonald’s Greenhouse and Corn Maze has been busy with the babies and wants you to experience what they have to offer. Come prepared for the weather, as areas can be muddy. The event is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. There is no cost, but donations will be accepted to benefit the Life Well Free Store. Ages 2 and under are free. For more information call 740-819-5814. Bluegrass show

Guernsey County's only opera house, the Pennyroyal will host a bluegrass show Friday featuring the Edgar Loudermilk Band. According to the press release, "Rural Rhythm Records recording artist Edgar Loudermilk’s signature voice, bass skills, and songwriting are a family tradition for this Louvin Brothers’ descendant. Loudermilk’s distinctive and powerful vocals cut to the heart of a song, while also winning over audiences with his friendly, down-home style." The opening band for the evening will be Just Plain Grass. The kitchen and doors will open at 5 p.m., with the show beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $20 with those aged 12 and under free. Music with Ethan Timm

A little weeknight jam session is always enjoyable. Head up to Georgetown Vineyards on Thursday, April 4, to hear the vocal stylings of Ethan Timm. A Night at the Races

Hosted by the Meadowbrook Varsity Gridiron Club and benefitting the football program, head to the Southgate Hotel for a Night at the Races on April 6. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. Guests can purchase a $25 ticket that includes dinner or a $10 fan entry ticket solely for the races. Rounding out the evening will be horse races for guests to bet on, a 50/50 drawing, gun raffle, and mystery coolers. Some items to be raffled off include Akron Rubberducks tickets, Cincinnati Reds tickets, and an autographed Grant Delpit Cleveland Browns flag. There will be a cash bar available. Dinner in Byesville

There's something about warmer weather and grabbing a fish dinner from a fire department that feels like spring. Head to Byesville for your Friday dinner as the guys and gals from the fire department host another fish fry. The menu will include battered fish, French fries, cole slaw, and dessert all for $15. Bottled water will be available for purchase for $1. Food service will begin at 5 p.m. and will continue until sold out. For more information call the fire department at 740-685-2222.
