'The Bastard Executioner,' 'American Horror Story: Hotel,' and 'Fargo' Get Premiere Dates on FX

FX has set premiere dates for its new drama series The Bastard Executioner, and the next installments of the American Horror Story franchise and Fargo.
The 10-episode first season of The Bastard Executioner from Kurt Sutter debuts Tuesday, September 15 at 10 PM with a two-hour premiere. The blood-soaked, medieval epic tells the story of Wilkin Brattle (Lee Jones), a 14th century warrior, whose life is forever changed when a divine messenger beseeches him to lay down his sword and lead the life of another man: a journeyman executioner. Katey Sagal, Stephen Moyer, and Flora Spencer-Longhurst also star. Sutter exec produces along with Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo and Paris Barclay. It’s produced by Fox 21 TV Studios and FX Prods.
The 13-episode American Horror Story: Hotel premieres Wednesday, October 7 at 10 PM, and the 10-episode second installment of Fargo premieres Monday, October 12 at 10 PM.
American Horror Story: Hotel’s cast includes Lady Gaga, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Chloë Sevigny, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Evan Peters and Finn Wittrock. Ryan Murphy serves as co-creator, showrunner, executive producer, writer and director and Brad Falchuk is co-creator, executive producer and writer. Tim Minear, Brad Buecker, Jennifer Salt, James Wong and Alexis Martin Woodall also serve as executive producers. It’s produced by 20th Century Fox TV.
Fargo’s new chapter travels back to 1979 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Luverne, Minnesota. It centers on Lou Solverson (Patrick Wilson), a young State Trooper recently back from Vietnam, who’s investigating a case involving a local crime gang, a major Mob syndicate and a small town beautician Peggy Blumquist (Kirsten Dunst) and her husband Ed (Jesse Plemons), the local butcher’s assistant. Helping Lou piece things together is his father-in-law, Sheriff Hank Larsson (Ted Danson). Executive producers Noah Hawley (showrunner/writer), Joel & Ethan Coen, Warren Littlefield and John Cameron all return for the second installment. FX’s Fargo is produced by MGM Television and FX Productions, with MGM Television serving as the lead studio.
