Texas Eclipse Festival organizers implement refund policy following weather cancellation

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Organizers for the Texas Eclipse Festival are giving partial refunds to everyone who purchased a ticket after the final day of the festival was cancelled due to weather earlier this month.

According to the Texas Eclipse Festival website, all tickets are eligible for “an automatic partial refund based on the number of days less taxes, fees and shipping.”

Below is the breakdown of the refunds provided on the festival’s website:

  • 4-Day GA & VIP tickets will receive a 25% refund of the ticket’s face value

  • 3-Day GA & VIP tickets will receive a 33% refund of the ticket’s face value

  • 2-Day GA & VIP tickets will receive a 50% refund of the ticket’s face value

Partial refunds will process back onto the card and account on file automatically, according to the website. Those refunds will begin processing on May 2 and could take up to five business days to show in the purchaser’s account.

For anyone who purchased a ticket on a payment plan, refunds will process two weeks later beginning May 17. The refund could take up to five business days to show in the purchaser’s account.

Hard ticket refunds could follow the same policy unless those tickets were purchased through a promoter, the website said.

Lastly, ticket orders in a “charged back status” will not be eligible for a refund, as the chargeback “will prevent future refunds from taking place,” according to festival organizers.

“Once a chargeback has been initiated, it can take up to 90 days before it is resolved. To prevent any delays or risk to your refund please do not initiate a chargeback,” the website said.
