On Wednesday’s eighth episode of “Survivor 46,” Jeff Probst declared he’s “never seen anything like this” in what was “one of the craziest tribals ever.” With two players tossed out as vote options earlier in the day and a third player asking for them to vote him out instead, no one seemed to know where the final vote would land. In the end, all but two people opted to take out Tevin Davis in a true blindside of a player that thought he was calling the shots. Read on for Tevin’s “Survivor 46” exit interview from the end of the episode.

“I was absolutely blindsided which is actually kind of epic,” Tevin began. His peers were able to catch him off guard because he thought that he and Q were on the same page about the need to vote Tiffany Nicole Ervin out for going against “The Six,” their main alliance. Because Tiffany had thrown out Maria Shrime Gonzalez‘s name also part of The Six, Tevin thought that he had her and Charlie Davis as well as Hunter McKnight for votes. What Tevin didn’t realize was that the sixth vote they needed was Liz Wilcox‘s, but he had been working on her own plan to take Tevin out instead.

Though Q was closest to Tiffany in the game, the was on board with taking her out because of her moves against the alliance. When he learned that what he, too, thought would be a landslide vote against Tiffany had switched to Tevin because of Liz, he became dismayed in the moments before Tribal Council and then made an attempt to fall on his own sword. He wanted everyone to vote him out instead in order to protect both Tiffany and Tevin, but it only left everyone confused and unconvinced. Despite some scrambling at a “live tribal,” it seemed the votes remained what they were always going to be.

In the end, the scramble did come with one important revelation. Q admitted to Tiffany and Kenzie Petty that the vote was going to be Tiffany at some point. Feeling caught off guard and possibly needing to play her idol, Tiffany went to Charlie for confirmation where he revealed to her that Q had told him and Maria about her idol. That information shocked Tiffany and could set her and Kenzie on a new path against their day one Yanu ally.

Tevin will have to see what comes of Q’s “antics” from the sidelines when he listens in on the next TC from the jury. “I was a little bit confused tonight about Q’s antics,” Tevin continued to reflect. “But I am so happy that in every single thing I’ve done here I have shown myself and I am so thankful for the opportunity to do this thing that I’ve been watching since I was a little boy. It is a dream come true and God is so good. Hallelujah.”
