With New York Fashion Week in full swing, Telfar shut down traffic in the city with its major one-day Shopping Bag sale in Brooklyn.

The brand announced last week that it would host a temporary pop-up featuring its iconic Shopping Bags instead of presenting a fashion show for the Spring/Summer 2023 season. “This Sunday, [we're] taking over the Rainbow Shop in Downtown Brooklyn and filling it with thousands and thousands of bags: Every size, every color — one day only, first come first serve,” the label wrote on Instagram.

Unsurprisingly, fans headed to the location to get their hands on the handbags, which were displayed across two floors. As reported by WWD, thousands lined up for the sale, with a fan sharing, "I’m a really big fan of Telfar, I saw it on Instagram and said, ‘we have to go’ because it can be hard to get the bags online." Another commented, "Just the fact of even having this in a Rainbow -- if you are from a certain area, you know that’s where you go for your fashion. To have it here is so monumental -- it’s for an everyday girl who is also a material girl."

Following the major sale, Telfar shared that an online release for the Rainbow bag is slated for September 23 for those who weren't able to cop one at the pop-up.
