Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn opted not to walk the Golden Globes red carpet together this evening. But the couple of three years sat next to each other inside the ceremony, where they had several sweet moments together during the broadcast that audience members captured, and the ceremony's camera didn't.

This is their most public date night, by the way; they have never sat next to each other during an award show where cameras could capture them.

They entered and walked to their seat together.

And their most romantic moment was after Swift returned from presenting with Amy Poehler during the ceremony. She and Alwyn exchanged warm smiles.

They also were seen very comfortably talking during the show, as if an auditorium of people couldn't see them.

Swift was a nominee tonight, up for Best Original Song - Motion Picture for her and Andrew Lloyd Webber's new original song for Cats, "Beautiful Ghosts." She ultimately did not win the award.

Swift and Alwyn have never walked a red carpet together, and they've kept their relationship largely private and on purpose. Swift spoke to The Guardian about why she won't speak in interviews about Alwyn. “I’ve learned that if I do [talk about my relationship with Alwyn], people think it’s up for discussion, and our relationship isn’t up for discussion,” she told The Guardian's reporter with a laugh. “If you and I were having a glass of wine right now, we’d be talking about it—but it’s just that it goes out into the world. That’s where the boundary is, and that’s where my life has become manageable. I really want to keep it feeling manageable.”

Swift attended the Golden Globes last year with Alwyn, but the two were not seen interacting until the after party. Swift was a surprise presenter at that show too.
