Taylor Swift just opened the American Music Awards with her very first award show performance of "I Did Something Bad." It's her latest single from Reputation, a song that may or may not be about her exes Tom Hiddleston or Calvin Harris, and her first time performing at a show in nearly three years, Variety noted.

Swift leaned into her performance, giving an emotive and impressive rendition of the song. She additionally tweaked one lyric, singing "They got their pitchforks and proof/Their receipts and reasons/They’re burning all the withes," and then adding, "it’s just for fun," as if to make a greater comment about her public image. She has done this before during live performances of the song on her tour.

(The regular lyrics, for reference, are: "They're burning all the witches even if you aren't one/They got their pitchforks and proof, their receipts and reasons/They're burning all the witches even if you aren't one/So light me up (light me up), light me up (light me up)/Light me up, go ahead and light me up (light me up).")

This is her first big public appearance since she became the buzz of the internet earlier this week when she endorsed two Democrats in her Tennessee Congressional race and encouraged people to register to vote.
