The Tattooist of Auschwitz is the adaptation of the namesake 2018 Holocaust book by Heather Morris. Tali Shalom Ezer directed the series from scripts by Jacquelin Perske, Gabbie Asher, and Evan Placey. Comprising six episodes, the series chronicles the story of the real-life figure Lali Sokolov, the eponymous tattooist. Sokolov was a Slovakian Jewish man who ended up at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in 1942. He later became the camp’s tattooist, tasked to put identification numbers on the arms of the other captives.
