Talk Show Host Has Trouble Pronouncing Will.i.am’s Name Correctly

Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas recently did an interview with popular British talk show This Morning. From the introduction of Will.i.am, co-host Eamonn (pronounced Amin) Holmes had trouble pronouncing the entertainer’s name correctly, saying it more like “Willyam.” Even after his co-host and wife, Ruth Langsford, corrected him, Holmes still couldn’t get it right. Will.i.am didn’t seem to mind, saying that his mom calls him Willy.

You’d think Holmes would know how to pronounce Will.i.am’s name correctly being that they’ve met before. Will.i.am didn’t remember meeting the couple, but Holmes told the story of what happened. Holmes and Langsford were away for a weekend and staying in a hotel. When they went to get on the elevator, who stepped out? You guessed it: Will.i.am. Langsford told Will.i.am what a huge fan she is and got a picture with him.

During this exchange, Holmes told Will.i.am who they are and what they do, and mentioned that they’re very famous. Will.i.am had no idea who they were.
