EXCLUSIVE: The Talk may be wrapping up after 15 seasons in December, but Executive Producer Rob Crabbe and his team are not going down without a fight.

For the first time in its history, The Talk will invite guest comedians on the show to yuk it up for the crowd and cameras. “Stand Up At The Talk” will launch April 26 and return each Friday.

Hosts Sheryl Underwood, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, Akbar Gbajabiamila and Amanda Kloots will move off stage so the set can be transformed into a comedy club. The featured standup will then perform a 5-minute set for the audience.

“I am excited to bring two things I love together — standup comedy and The Talk,” Underwood, who’s a comedian herself, tells Deadline. “This is the first time The Talk has done a standup series, but it won’t be the last. See you every Friday!”

Wendy Liebman will kick off the series on April 26, followed by Preacher Lawson (May 3), Zarna Garg (May 10), and Brad Upton (May 17). On April 12, Jackie Fabulous was the first standup to perform a set on The Talk, which ended up inspiring the comedy series.

Earlier this month, CBS revealed that it picked up The Talk for a 15th and final season. A few days later, the network announced that it has ordered the new daytime drama The Gates to series and will premiere the soap in January 2025.

The specific time period and launch date will be announced at a later date, but it seems certain the drama will take over The Talk‘s timeslot.
