Mar. 25—HIGH POINT — Sofia Talvik, an Americana/folk singer with Swedish roots, will perform April 20, from 6 to 7 p.m., in the High Point Public Library's Arts and Education Plaza. The library is located at 901 N. Main St.

Talvik has been described as an artist and storyteller with a voice comparable to that of Joni Mitchell. Her delicate songs are performed intimately, showing off her angelic voice enhanced by a tasteful mix of harmonies and delays, and accompanied by the steady picking of her acoustic guitar and the rhythm section consisting of her own two feet, bells and a stomp box.

She is an experienced international touring artist who has toured 48 U.S. states, many European countries and faraway places like New Zealand.

Talvik's latest album, "Center of the Universe," was released in 2023. The album went straight into the top 20 on the U.S. folk radio charts in August 2023, with the first single charting in the top 10.
