Student accidentally takes $1,700 Uber ride across the UK

A British college student took a much longer Uber ride then he intended after a night of drinking in Newcastle, England. The engineering student, who is known as James, accidentally typed in an address in Norwich, 250 miles away from his intended destination. James tells SWNS that he slept through most of the five-hour trip and was stunned when he realized he was hundreds of miles away from campus. The driver was surprisingly fine with the accident and didn’t end up charging James for the trip. In response, James gave him a five-star rating. Uber caps the number of hours UK drivers can be logged in to accept trips at 10 hours. This means the driver wasted half of that time for no money. James ended up getting a train back to Newcastle but was consequently fined for not buying a ticket and missed all of his classes for the day
