'Star Wars' meets 'Game of Thrones' in this epic viral video
Game of Thrones meets Star Wars in a fan-made video that replaces the swords in last week’s epic sparring session between Arya Stark and Brienne of Tarth with lightsabers. It’s easily the best lightsaber fight we’ve seen since the battle between Darth Maul, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Obi-Wan Kenobi circa The Phantom Menace. And that was three lightsabers!
The “Arya vs. Brienne Lightsaber Duel” was posted on YouTube over the weekend by Omid G and, in a matter of days, the video has become a viral hit, drawing more than 1.5 million views.
The original scene was already impressive because it showed us what a strong fighter Arya has evolved into, but adding lightsabers complete with sound effects makes this pretty much the coolest thing to happen this summer. Not to mention, now we’re even more stoked to see Gwendoline Christie reprise her role as chrome-plated stormtrooper Captain Phasma when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters this December.
