Star of ’90 Day Fiancé’ will appear at Rock Island restaurant

You can meet a star from the reality TV series “90 Day Fiancé” when he visits a Rock Island restaurant on Saturday, April 13, according to a news release.

“We were so honored last month, when our new friend Jibri Bell wandered in to our family business in search of the best quesabirria taco in the Quad Cities,” Rodolfo “Roly” Gerardo, owner of Taqueria Roly’s, says in the release. “What a great guy, who has now become a dear friend.”

After sharing his visit on social media, many people contacted the restaurant to ask whether Bell would return. “Because of this, we invited him to return to the taqueria and meet some of our dear customers who are big fans of his work,” Gerardo said.

From noon until 3 p.m. Saturday, April 13, Bell – , who also is an international artist, musician, influencer and reality TV star – will be at Taqueria Roly’s, 3850 Blackhawk Road, Rock Island.

“We will have our homemade quesabirria tacos on special and be serving other Mexican cuisine and free appetizers for you to enjoy (while supplies last,)” Gerardo said.

The eight-year-old restaurant, founded by Gerardo and his wife Martha in 2015, relocated from Moline to the current Rock Island location in 2022.

“We met Jibri last month, when he came in to try our famous Quesabirria tacos. He declared them to be the best he had ever had, which is a huge honor for us considering that he is a world traveler,” Gerardo said.

Bell, a social media influencer, international artist, and star of the reality show “90 Day Fiance,” traveled to the Quad Cities recently to work with a Quad City music producer and also train for an upcoming martial arts fight.

Last month, Gerardo says, after an intense training day, he found himself craving some birria tacos and remembered that he heard from a friend about the birria tacos at Taqueria Roly’s.

“I know how hard it has been for locally owned independent restaurants in the last few years, considering the rising food costs and the pandemic,” Bell said in the release. “We have to support these places that make our cities unique. Small businesses are the fabric of our communities and if we don’t support them, they disappear.”
