Sneak Peek at the 'SuperKitties' Season 2 Premiere on Disney Junior (Exclusive)

Your favorite pawesome foursome is back for more adventures and we have an exclusive clip from the first episode.

If you are a preschool parent, chances are you are very familiar with the names Ginny, Sparks, Buddy, and Bitsy. Those are the four superhero kittens who make up the SuperKitties. The Disney Junior show was the number one preschool series across linear and streaming platforms in 2023.

And if you have fans in your household, get ready for all-new adventures when the second season of SuperKitties debuts on Disney Junior and Disney Channel on Friday, April 5. But you don't have to wait any longer for a first look at the season premiere. Parents got an exclusive sneak peek at a clip from the first episode.

In this clip, Bitsy is struggling with being the "ittiest bittiest smallest kitty," as the SuperKitties take on the villain Lab Rat. But in a heartwarming moment, her friends rally around her. They remind her that there are so many "pawesome" things she can do that bigger kitties can't do, like fitting into small spaces and giving "cozy little cuddles." That was just the boost Bitsy needed to hear.

"In this episode, Lab Rat accidentally becomes giant in a desperate bid to steal fancy jams," says Sarah Mullervy, the executive producer of SuperKitties. "To save Kittydale from this enormous foe, Bitsy must embrace her stature and come to appreciate that no matter how big or small you are, you can do so many special things. I love this episode because its message is so relatable to preschoolers. Plus, it’s very funny!"

In SuperKitties, the four friends are on a mission to make the town of Kittydale a caring place. They each have special skills and fun gadgets they can use to stop the various villains in their tracks. In the process, they spread positive messages.

"In this newest season, the SuperKitties continue to use kindness and empathy to thwart the dastardly (and hilariously misguided) schemes of our resident villains," Mullervy tells Parents. "Along with the humor and heart that is integral to the brand, expect even greater action as the SuperKitties don new su-purr charged power suits and deploy an array of new gadgets."

Joining the team are some cool new characters voiced by familiar names. Disney legend Anika Noni Rose, who voiced Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, now takes on the role of Cousin Sassy. Emmy Award-winner Pamela Adlon (King of the Hill, Better Things) voices Aunt Lola in season two. And Emmy Award-winner Eric Bauza (Muppet Babies) joins as robot pig Wiggles. Plus, American Idol alum Justin Guarini is back as Cat Burglar and James Monroe Iglehart (Broadway’s Aladdin) also returns as Mr. Puppypaws.

With the show's success last year, it seems to be resonating with both kids and their caregivers.

"SuperKitties mixes superhero tropes with kitty kindness, hilarious villains, and relatable heroes," Mullervy says. "I think that quirky mix is what makes the series stand out. And we can’t underestimate the power of a really cute kitty."

It also helps that there are some critical themes and learning moments throughout the show.

"In the world of SuperKitties, everyone deserves empathy, even supervillains—who often turn out to be doing the wrong things for what they think are the right reasons—and the SuperKitties never fail to extend curiosity and understanding to everyone they encounter," explains Mullervy. "We hope that kids who watch SuperKitties see that with kindness and empathy, the world can truly be a pawesome place."

Music is always a fun part of any children's show and SuperKitties has some great tunes kids can look forward to (and parents likely won't be able to get out of their heads).

"Just like season one, this season features some amazing songs including a new su-purr charge theme," Mullervy says. "It’ll have you dancing around your living room."
