A Shop for Killers episode 5: Kim Hye-Jun makes a tough choice ahead of battling Bale

A Shop for Killers episode 5 began with Bae Jung-Min visiting Jeong Jin-Man and hoping to get hired for a part-time job. The episode then shifted back to the present when Jung-Min held Ji-An captive. Once he received orders to kill Ji-An, he recalled how her uncle died. The scene cut to when Jung-Min discussed the website “murthehelp” with his friend.

Apparently, Jung-Min was recently discharged from the military. Because he was just in operations and didn’t know how to work with weapons, his friend felt it was useless of him to think of the site. However, Jung-Min continued to enquire about the suspicious website, promising to become a blue hat hacker one day.

They spotted a strange man below their apartment and were surprised to see him once again as they entered the house. Two of Bale’s men attacked them, asking them to hack “murthehelp.” Jung-Min was successful in finding its IP address, so they killed his friend. Back to the present, he further reflected on his actions that led to Jin-Man’s death. In the past, he continued working part-time with Jin-Man and hacked into “murthehelp.”

However, Jin-Man enquired about Jung-Min’s friendship with Ji-An, considering she had no friends when she was younger. Soon, Jin-Man left, and Jung-Min successfully hacked the website. However, he was caught on Jin-Man’s camera. Eventually, he removed his recorder from the pen and showed Ji-An how her uncle died. Jin-Man caught him, tied him upside down, and threatened him to inform Babylon about keeping their promise.

When Jung-Min entered the bathroom, he found out that Jin-Man killed himself. He further documented a dead Jin-Man in the bathtub. Back to the present, Ji-An witnessed all of this on camera and broke down. However, she promised that her uncle might have employed more people to save her. An infuriated Jung-Min began to shoot her when she attacked him and escaped. Using her uncle’s knowledge, she grabbed materials she could use to trap Jung-Min. The latter, unaware of Ji-An’s plans, continued to attack her but fell prey to her plans.

Meanwhile, employed men from Babylon advised Seong-Jo (Seo Hyun-Woo) not to kill Ji-An as they needed her face recognition. As the men proceeded to attack using a powerful machine-like weapon, Min-Hye and Brother counter-attacked them using Jin-Man’s weapons he hid for them in his remodeled house. They closed the house using a strong shutter, but the weapon managed to block it halfway. Using the remaining space, the men entered the house. However, Min-Hye managed to kill most of them.

At the same time, Jin-Man left Ji-An with two choices in the “murthehelp” guidebook. She could escape from a back door and start a new life or protect the place and the people fighting for her. She chose the latter when she joined Brother and Min-Hye. Although one of the men survived and attacked Ji-An, Pasin came right in time to save her.

At the end of the episode, Pasin asked Ji-An to get ready to battle Bale, who had killed both her parents. Meanwhile, Bale stood in front of a screen filled with cameras providing him with a view of Jin-Man’s house. Bale’s arrival marks a crucial point in the show, so seeing how Ji-An tackles him will be interesting.
