SEVENTEEN Prepping Greatest Hits Album, ’17 Is Right Here’

K-pop group SEVENTEEN officially announced the upcoming release of a career-spanning greatest hits collection, 17 Is Right Here, on April 2. The collection due out on April 29 was teased with an elaborate grid of images on the band’s Instagram page making up what appears to be the album’s cover, a shot of the 13-member band from above in a recording studio surrounded by instruments.

At press time, no additional information was available about the full track listing for the compilation, which was first teased after the band played two stadium shows at South Korea’s Asiad Main Stadium in Incheon on their Follow Again Tour on March 30-31. That initial news was accompanied by a colorful animated teaser video by artist Max Dalton (The Grand Budapest Hotel) that spotlighted re-creations and animations of the band’s previous releases. A second video, just 16-seconds long, was comprised of images of the group in dark clothes and futuristic settings separated into their hip-hop, performance and vocal units.

In follow-up posts, SEVENTEEN teased some of the track list for the hits comp that will come in a two-disc physical version, with the first CD comprised of Korean-language versions of their eight Japanese singles and other as-yet-unrevealed tracks. The second disc will comprise 20 of the group’s’ hit singles, from their 2015 breakthrough “Adore U” and follow-ups “VERY NICE,” “Don’t Wanna Cry” and “Super” through their most recent charting song, “God of Music.” Three different version of the collection will be available, entitled “Here,” “Hear” and “Dear.”

An interactive website for the album features a variety of photos, lyrics and other goodies for hard-core fans, known as CARATs.

The career look-back comes as SEVENTEEN — which consists of members S.Coups, Jeonghan, Jun, Woozi, DK, Joshua, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon, Dino, The8 and Seungkwan — celebrate their ninth year together. It will also follow on the heels of their two best-selling 2023 mini albums, FML and SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN.

SEVENTEEN will become the first K-pop act to perform at England’s Glastonbury Festival in June, in addition to headlining Lollapalooza Berlin in September.
