Just four months after giving birth to daughter Alexis Olympia, Serena Williams returned to the tennis court Saturday. Despite having lost, 2017 was a blessed year for the tennis pro, not only in her career, but her personal life as well.

As the year came to a close, Williams took to Instagram to celebrate her successful year and gave her followers 10 of her favorite personal moments of 2017.

“This year has been amazing for me. As it comes to its end I want to share 10 personal moments. 1. The day I found out I was pregnant. I had to pretend I everything was normal but I was dying inside. After all I had a grand slam to play. 2. Melbourne 7 weeks pregnant 3. Wow I won the Australian Open. I was 9 weeks by then. No one knew outside of venus and my fiancé Alexis 4. Everyone got me stuffed animals for my bridal shower. 5. 24 weeks. 6. bridal shower by @thevlvgroup 7. still hitting at 7.5 weeks 8. @vanityfair cover of the year for me 9. Just about ready to pop 10. The day before I checked into hospital to have my amazing baby”

A commenter wrote, “We love you. Thank you for you @serenawilliams for being the best possible woman you can be. Mother, partner, tennis champ, fashionista the list is long. You got this. You got all of this!” Another commenter added, “You are a gorgeous and amazing black woman!! I love you for who you are and you don’t change! Stay true to yourself always.”

Among her triumphs was her January victory over sister Venus in the dramatic final of the Australian Open while being pregnant. She welcomed her first baby, had a fairy tale wedding to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, and graced the cover of Vanity Fair.

Williams has plenty to be grateful for, so it’s no wonder she’s in good spirits despite losing her returning match.

“It’s good to be back on the court,” Williams said to ESPN. “This was such a good time for me. First matches back are always super incredibly hard, especially after having a baby. It was great. I was glad I could do it here.”
