Seo Minwoo from the K-Pop Group 100% Has Died

He was 33.

Seo Minwoo of the Korean pop group 100% passed away on Sunday, March 25, an online statement from music label TOP Media has confirmed. The singer was 33.

100% is a K-pop boy band that rose to fame following their formation in 2012, Newsweek reported. Minwoo was the eldest member of 100% and had remained in the group until he was called to military service in 2014, Newsweek reports. He later returned to the 100% in 2015, and went on with the band to release a number of singles and EPs, including a track that debuted this past February.

Minwoo was also a television actor and had appeared on television shows including Sharp 3 and The King and I, Newsweek noted. Billboard reports that he also participated in a reality television series called The Unit in 2017.

According to TOP Media, the singer died as a result of cardiac arrest and was at his home in Gangam, Seoul. Paramedics were called to the scene, where they confirmed the performer's death. "His family, the 100% members, and the TOP Media artists and staff members are all grief-stricken and in mourning from the unexpected, sad news," the statement from TOP Media reads. "As the oldest member of his team, Minwoo led the band and truly loved his fans. For everyone who knew him and was aware of his kind-heartedness and faithfulness, the sadness is even greater."

Fans on social media have since reacted to the news and are coming together to share their memories of the singer. "Minwoo was so proud of his members," one fan tweeted. "No one loved 100% more than he did. No one cherished and took care of perfection like he did." Others followers have shared how thankful they were for the musician's work and how he inspired so many with music.

There are two 100% shows scheduled for April 21 and 30, Billboard reported, but it's not been confirmed whether the concerts will still be held.
