Selena Gomez says her friendship with Taylor Swift was the best thing to come out of dating Nick Jonas

Often times, the best friendships arise from the people we meet while dating someone. Even though it didn’t work for either of them, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift’s friendship that blossomed while dating members of the Jonas Brothers is something that’s truly unstoppable.

The pair met almost a decade ago, when Gomez was dating Nick Jonas (which we almost forgot about, based on her high profile relationship with Justin Bieber) and Swift was dating Joe Jonas. The four hung out a few times together, and Gomez admitted that she clicked with Swift right off the bat — even though they had some differences.

“We actually dated the Jonas Brothers together! It was hysterical,” Gomez said while being interviewed at KISS FM. “It was amazing, because she was the girl with the big curly hair and all the bracelets and the cowboy boots. And I was definitely up-and-coming, and we just clicked. It was the best thing we got out of those relationships.”

Gomez was also quick to add that no matter what, there was no bad blood between the girls and the brothers. So much has happened since, and they’re nothing but supportive of each other.

“We were young, you know, it’s a different time,” she said.

Back in 2015, Gomez compared the relationship with Nick Jonas to “puppy love.” These days, he’s rumored to be dating Victoria’s Secret model Georgia Fowler. As for Joe, he recently proposed to Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner.

While Swift has a ton of friends, we just know that her connection with Gomez is genuine, and a relationship that’ll last the rest of their lives. And it’s proof that even if you’re with someone who isn’t “the one,” good may still come from it.
