Selena Gomez, for one, is not done with this year’s oxblood moment, at least not yet. Fashion declared red to be the color of the season in the fall of 2023 and, for Gomez at least, the trend is still going strong.

The actor and pop star wore a berry-red leather trench to watch the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on April 22, where she was photographed sitting courtside with her boyfriend, music producer Benny Blanco. Gomez styled the jacket, which featured structured shoulder pads and an oversized fit, with a black skirt and knee-high, snakeskin black boots. She wore her hair in a sleek, low bun, accessorized with (also on-trend) chunky gold hoops, and finished with a bright-red lip to complement the jacket.

Her boyfriend, meanwhile, dressed in his usual off-duty style, wearing colorful, floral-patterned pants, a printed white camp shirt, and oxblood loafers that matched Gomez’s chic coat.

Trend or not, red is quickly becoming Gomez’s signature color. The Only Murders in the Building actor has been seen in vibrant scarlet looks on the red carpet at the Golden Globes and the VMAs this year, to name just two, and rocked a Jessica Rabbit-inspired red frock for Blanco's birthday celebration in March.

As Gomez’s stylist Erin Walsh told Glamour, the color red can really help bring out a person's confidence. And has Selena Gomez ever looked more confident?
